Night Time Trio
I’ve recently wanted to focus on my skin at night time. I’ve always moisturized my face before I go to bed but I noticed I’ve been waking up with dry skin. Almost like my face was thirsty. I also thought while I was sleeping that I could maybe help my skin with my blemishes and slight impurities. I wanted to wake up refreshed and even out my skin.
With that being said I decided to invest in a few night time products - a makeup removing cleansing balm, a serum, and a night cream.
The Night Cream
I certainly do notice a difference between a day time and night time cream. As well I think I invested in something the was more geared towards my skin type | Combination Skin with an Asian/European background.
I chose to stick with a brand that I was familiar with - Fresh Beauty. I currently use their Rose Floral Toner on a daily basis and will never give it up. Their Lotus Youth Preserve Dream Face Cream called to me. For one I smells amazing and two it’s geared towards night time recovery.
The lotus benefits helps strengthen the skin and fight dullness and dehydration. There is also a hint of peach leaf extract that gives the cream a calming smell and helps the skin to recover from stress.
The Serum
This baby is cruelty free and organic! Actually the whole brand is. This is my one and only product from this brand and it’s my first time using it. Juice Beauty was brought to my attention by a Sephora employee. I told them I wanted something to help with hydration and to solve the imperfections on my face. This product can be used day or night but I choose to use it at night while working alongside my Lotus night cream. I use 1 pump of this serum to spread throughout my face and then follow with my night cream.
I was told serums are more penetrating than creams or oils. Of course, why didn’t I think of that. This products is packed with fruit stem cells that aid with hydration, aging skin, skin tone and luminosity.
The Balm
I usually shower at night and remove my makeup but I never feel like it’s totally off. Especially my mascara. If I don’t happen to shower at night (usually on my days off) I typically use a face cloth and again, I don’t totally feel like it’s clean. So I wanted to dive into something new to clean my face. I have my day time products that I use in the shower but I wanted to use something to remove my makeup while cleansing my face at night. I started using the Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm by Farmacy.
100% vegan, organic and cruelty free, this product is divine. I say this about a lot of things but really. I would say otherwise. The citrus and natural smell calms the skin and makes it feel so clean. It’s different using a balm compared to a foaming cleanser or soap as of course it doesn’t foam up. It literally glides and melts on your face. I take about a nickel size portion of product warm it up in my fingers and rub it on my dry face in a circular motion. Massaging it everywhere, getting my makeup off. It doesn’t create mess which is amazing! I take a warm face towel to wipe off the product.
On top of cleansing and removing makeup, this products also helps in removing impurities, sunscreen residue and fight he effects of pollution. Which is also a thing to think about. Living semi-close to the city I am exposed to a lot of pollution and dust without even thinking about it a lot. That’s also why I chose to take care of my hair in a certain way. It’s not something we always think about. Using these clean products make my feel revived and relaxed.
I’m very interested in trying different serums or oils for deep hydration and different night creams. I have my eye on the Herbivore Botanicals Moon Fruit Superfruit Night Treatment. For one it looks super cute and two it’s also cruelty free and vegan!
