I got welded at Melanie Auld Jewelry

This year I wanted to do something a little different. Instead of just buying my momma a piece of jewelry, I decided to get it welded on! Melanie Auld Jewelry offers a welding service for bracelets which I think is a fantastic idea.

📍 54 Ossington Avenue in Toronto, ON

Melanie Auld Jewelry is a Canadian jewelry boutique that has 2 locations; one in Toronto and one in Vancouver. The Toronto boutique is beyond gorgeous. The designs of the MAJ boutiques was inspired by the founders time she spent in the Mediterranean. You can see that in the beautiful stone accents, round display tables and clean white walls. The employees there were very helpful and made the experience very pleasant.

- WELDING PROCESS -

It was honestly pretty straight forward! All you have to do is pick which chain you’d like, pay for it and get it welded! They also offer an array of charms that both dangle and/or lay flat to add a little extra sparkle. The pricing is based on which chain you choose. They offer both yellow and white gold; all of which or either 10 or 14K. Of course you’ll have to pay extra for which ever charm you choose.

After choosing your chain, you can decide which arm you’d like it on and how you’d like for it to fit; either more snug or more loose. I prefer to have mine a bit more loose. I like a dangle moment. Our girl that did the welding suggests that you do not choose the wrist that you wear your watch on as it can get caught. Everyone in my family is right handed and therefore chose their right wrist but I went against the grain and I chose my left wrist because I do a lot of hands on work and am right hand dominate. I do wear a watch but I always wear it high on my wrist so there is lots of movement for both bracelet and watch.

My momma, brother and I chose the Rolo chain and my brothers girlfriend chose the Fancy chain. They also advised us that the Rolo chain was one of the most durable ones. It’s very dainty so you still need to take care while wear it.

MAJ does offer re-welding if your chain happens to break so there is no fret…all you have to do is keep your chain safe and go back into the store for a re-welding.

I’ve been waiting to do this for a little while now but I was trying to think of the perfect time to do it. My momma means so much to me and I wanted to show her that with an enteral chain. I’ve bought many pieces of jewelry for my mom in the past but again…this was a different and a more meaningful experience. If you’re able to go check out Melanie Auld Jewelry!
