I'm Adding 4 More Books. . .
I know I already made my 2021 reading list but I’d like to add 4 more. I took a turn in walmart and ended up in the book section. Many caught my eye but I left with these 4 books. All of them are different in their own way. Story lines I have yet to read.
As I write this blog post, I have actually already completed one of these books and in the midst of reading another. By the time this goes live, I will have either come close or have completed that book.
Now the reason why I splurged on these 4 books was because I had a lot of sci-fi novels on my 2021 reading list. I kind of got sick of the genre while reading The Patron Saint of Plagues and I wanted to read a different story line or a different genre. So far these books have given me the break I’ve needed and I’ll be ready to jump into the sci-fi world again soon.
Honey Girl - Morgan Rogers
(completed)
A girl named Grace Porter has her life figured out. She just got her PhD in astronomy and plans to excel in her field but when interviews go south and her girls trip to Las Vegas ends up her getting married to the Champagne girl Yuki Yamamoto, her worlds turn sideways. She to find meaning in her work, her education, her family and her love life.
I’d love to write more about it but I don’t want to spoil anything! I enjoyed this book not only because it was a different story line than I’m used to reading but the character traits where all different and real and so was the story line.
Little Gods - Meng Jin
A story about a bright physicist unraveling her own history and memory.
We Are All Fine - Jillian Horton, M.D.
A story about a married mother of 3 who is about to have a personal and professional breakdown. She attends rehab with a twist; a meditation retreat for burnt out doctors.
